Amish countryside in Lancaster, PA back in the 70’s. Everytine I visit there I always order a slice of shoo-fly pie. It is still my favorite dessert. I now enjoy reading Amish books. Amish life in the community.

  13. There’s something about Amish stories that rekindle the desire for simpler times and inspire me. For a while my busy life didn’t allow me the pleasure to get away to read but here I am back in the midst of country roads, horse drawn buggies and an abiding faith. I recently finished a series of wonderful books by Wanda Brustetter and now that my palette is wet I would love to read more about Amish life.

  23. I read every Amish book that I can find. I visit Lancaster friends every year and we have eaten in Amish homes. I am totally fascinated with these people and their committments to God and each other. Their “simple” way of life is an example for all to follow. I have the first book in the series and would love to have this one as well.

So I would uplug everything and even turn my lights off. Then if my mom would turn on the lights I would get mad. I would love a copy of this book! I read the first book and really enjoy the meaning of the work kindered.
