Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cooked turkey (cubed)
  • 3 cups Cooked ham (cubed)
  • 1 1/4 cup Cheese, Swiss or Cheddar (shredded, divided)
  • 1 cup Onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/3 cup Flour
  • 2 cups Half-and-half
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon Dill weed (divided)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon Ground mustard
  • 1 cup Dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts (chopped)

Directions

Step 1
Combine turkey, ham, and 1 cup cheese; set aside.
Step 2
Saute onion in 1/4 cup butter.
Step 3
Stir in flour to form a paste.
Step 4
Gradually add half-and-half, stirring constantly.
Step 5
Bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute or until thick.
Step 6
Add 1 teaspoon dill weed, nutmeg, and ground mustard.
Step 7
Pour over meat mixture and toss gently to combine.
Step 8
Spoon into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Step 9
Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs and remaining 1/4 teaspoon dill weed.
Step 10
Mix in remaining 1/4 cup cheese and walnuts. Sprinkle over casserole.
Step 11
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through.
