Free Recipe Friday – Whole Wheat Quick Buttermilk Bread
Georgia Varozza, author of The Homestyle Amish Kitchen Cookbook, promises this is one of the easiest recipes you’ll find anywhere in the universe…and one of the tastiest! This moist, dessert-type bread (along the lines of banana nut bread) is enjoyed best with butter and a good cup of coffee.
Whole Wheat Quick Buttermilk Bread
1 quart buttermilk
4 cups whole wheat flour
3 cups brown sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix together all ingredients and pour batter into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes.
